Chief Financial Officer (Asia)

A private equity firm is looking to hire an experienced Chief Financial Officer to join an electronic components manufacturer in Asia. The manufacturing company was recently purchased and is in need of new leadership as the existing owner and CEO is looking to retire. The prospective candidate will oversee a two-year transition period with the target company’s existing ownership and management team to ensure a smooth handoff. The prospective candidate is expected to manage this transition period and continue to lead the company forward. The manufacturing company is well capitalized but is in need of new leadership to expand the company’s footprint in new markets.

Job Requirements/Key Goals – What are the main goals that this position needs to accomplish to be considered successful in the near/mid/long-term?

  • Lead and develop a high performing finance team to execute financial operations – accounts receivable and accounts payable, accounting, payroll, etc.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to drive growth and enhance value with a goal of increasing Total Enterprise Value by 2-3x over a 7-10 year time horizon through a focus on operational improvements and organic growth
  • Provide leadership and develop plans for budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and analysis, accounting and cashflow planning
  • In partnership with the leadership team and board, develop budgets and financial targets
  • Collaborate with the leadership team in developing KPIs and providing recommendations for improvements
  • Provide timely and accurate financial information for monthly leadership meetings to review progress towards short term and long-term goals

Competencies – The underlying skills and experience that help the person reach the Key Goals

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in financial leadership roles
  • Track record of success in driving improvements in free cash flow
  • Demonstrated skill in financial planning, analysis, and capital management
  • Previous financial leadership roles at transportation or logistics companies
  • Crisis Management and Resilience – the ability to persevere and provide steady leadership in driving new initiatives in uncertain times. For example: Being able to lead and keep the team together when budgets are tight, customer-relationships are new or unstable, and cashflows are volatile. Company goals could also rapidly pivot.

  • Develop a relationship with the existing ownership and management team in leading a smooth transition period of two years
