Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB DUTIES The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at GoTriangle, is responsible for managing the agency's financial health and sustainability, which includes supporting optimal cost, liquidity, profitability, transparency, and security. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the CFO directs all financial aspects, ensures compliance with regulatory standards, oversees multi-million-dollar budgets, and provides strategic financial guidance to support the agency's vision. The CFO leads all financial operations utilizing data to form strategies that help the agency to achieve its strategic goals. The CFO is responsible for planning and management of the agency's economic needs, including but not limited to, preparation of budgets, forecasts, analytics, and fiscal management across the agency with consistent internal controls and processes, reporting, and audits. The CFO is one of the critical roles on the GoTriangle leadership team with expectations of continuing a positive cultural environment that aligns to the core values of the agency and provides fiscal education for members of the team. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Collaborate with the CEO and Board of Trustees to develop and implement financial policies and procedures that align with the agency's values and strategic goals. Report the agency's financial performance to the Board of Trustees, including monthly updates on budget performance, forecasts, and economic risks and opportunities. Participate as an influential and key member of the Executive Team to set the agency's strategic direction and business strategy and translate these strategies into budgets and planning for each part of the agency. Oversee financial budgeting and planning for each department within the agency, tax/audit strategy, costs structures, cash management, grant and contract management, and procurement management. Leverage financial perspective to frame decision-making for acquisition of capital, joint ventures, and other investments. Manage large-scale capital project investments in infrastructure, equipment, or other assets by ensuring sound financial decision-making and alignment with the agency's strategic objectives. Ensure effective use of the agency's economic and financial resources. Ensure agency compliance with financial reporting and control requirements. Directly supervise and manage 8-10 staff members and provide ongoing staff development and training to foster a culture of excellence, innovation, collaboration and accountability. Build and maintain effective working relationships with board members, staff, state and federal funding partners, vendors, auditors, banking representatives and other stakeholders. Approve the management of agency liabilities through a comprehensive risk management program. May be appointed to serve as the Finance Officer and Assistant Treasurer to the GoTriangle Board of Trustees. May be appointed to act as a liaison to the Board and its Committees on all financial matters, while maintaining a high level of visibility and accessibility to the Board Trustees. Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field from an accredited college or university. Relevant Master's degree strongly preferred. 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in finance leadership with a demonstrated record of leading agency finance strategy, compliance, and effective allocation of capital. Ability to conduct deep analyses and proactively identify trends and patterns and work with executives to understand those insights. Ability to identify and implement innovative solutions to increase productivity and achieve cost savings. Strong strategic business acumen to ensure programs are practical and drive real business value. Strong leadership, negotiation, and management skills. In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, controls and procedures. Excellent financial and analytical and skills. Proficient in database and accounting computer application systems. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 strongly preferred. Experience with Finance systems implementation preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills. An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the above stated minimums excluding High School Diploma, GED, Licenses, or Certifications. Working Conditions: Works in an office environment where there is minimum exposure to dust, noise, or extreme temperatures. May be moderately exposed to unpleasant working conditions to include dust, noise, temperature, weather, petroleum products, and chemicals while visiting operating facilities, during which the incumbent should observe all policies and procedures, safety precautions and regulations, and use all protective clothing and devices provided. Physical Requirements: Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
