Description -

Reporting And Data Analysis

Extracts and integrates healthcare and operations data from multiple sources, reviews and creates datasets, and prepares analysis and reports based on customer requirements. Visualizes data using charts, graphs, tables, and summaries to support use and understanding.

Applies quality assurance processes to ensure data is methodologically and statistically sound and accurate. Identifies and resolves potential issues with analysis assumptions and data quality or escalates as needed. Analyzes and compares data to benchmarks and standards for clinical, operational, and financial measures, and provides summaries of the organization’s performance.

Abstracts, validates, and submits data elements to external agencies to support compliance with regulatory reporting.

Data/System Management

Monitors for incorrect/incomplete data, executing quality assurance processes to ensure data integrity and accuracy of data, reports, and presentation materials. Identifies data gaps.

Works with users, system office, and/or vendors to create, modify, and define data structures and dictionaries.

Coordinates and supports data transfers/interfaces, ensuring correct mapping and alignment with system standards.

Collaborates with the system office for application changes, upgrades, and enhancements, performing necessary testing to assure the functionality and integrity of reporting solutions.

Quality Projects

Collects quality and performance data, providing data and analysis to support performance measurement, quality outcomes management, planning projects, and audits.

Supports the development of metrics and/or performance/quality measures.

Applies innovative techniques and processes for measuring, monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on healthcare processes, outcomes, and costs.

Technical Support

Presents data and analysis to operational and medical leaders and staff, describing and explaining data and results.

Trains less-experienced staff in data retrieval techniques, statistical analysis, and/or data visualization methods.

Serves as a resource and super-user, assisting end-users with the use of database applications and presentation of data.

Develops customized templates and formats.

Performance Management And Continuous Improvement

Seeks and responds to regular performance feedback.

Supports and assists the team when necessary.

Contributes ideas and actions toward continuous improvement of processes and workflows.

Recognizes and communicates potential issues to the appropriate leader.

Education

Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Mathematics, Statistics, Business or Healthcare Management, or a related field, or equivalent education/experience.

Typical Experience

2 years of recent relevant experience.

Skills And Knowledge

General knowledge and understanding of Quality Management, Infection Control, Risk Management, regulatory compliance, and general hospital/clinical operations and processes.

Understanding of the use and application of quality measures and outcomes.

Knowledge of various data sources available for quality management reporting and analysis.

Familiarity with medical/clinical terminologies and clinical data.

Understanding of quality performance/process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean/Six Sigma, PDSA, Rapid Cycle).

Technical skills to integrate data/information to produce reports according to user requirements and specifications.

Critical thinking and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.

Ability to compute and apply moderately complex mathematical and statistical calculations.

Displays a customer service focus in all decisions and actions.

Organizational skills to effectively manage and re-prioritize activities and projects to meet deadlines while maintaining a high degree of responsiveness.

Ability to communicate through verbal and written means, especially when helping customers understand technical concepts and data.

Ability to interact and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties.
