Summary
Copiah-Lincoln Community College Workforce Education has an opening for a contract Commercial Truck Driving Program Instructor. Primarily responsible for organizing and carrying out structured learning processes for students. This position reports to the Workforce Program Coordinator and Director of Workforce Education.

Duties And Responsibilities
Plan and provide in-person instruction to Commercial Truck Driving Program students truck driving theory and behind-the-wheel (BTW) public road training.
Develops, implements, and evaluates student learning activities.
Provides a positive role model for the students, especially in areas of caring, respect for self and others, collegiality, ethical behavior, ethical reasoning, and strong work ethic (including responsibility, dependability, and accountability) and provides constructive feedback to students.
Demonstrates proper skills operations for students.
Oversees the safe operation and use of equipment when being used by students, ensuring that the company policy and standards are being adhered to.
Completes all necessary documentation for each student including, but not limited to, attendance forms and training records.
Collaborates with Workforce Program Coordinator on curriculum, supplies, and curriculum needs.
Minimum Qualifications
Theory instructors must:
Hold a CDL of the same (or higher) class, and with all endorsements necessary, to operate the commercial motor vehicle (CMV) for which training is to be provided.
Meet all applicable State qualification requirements for CMV instructors. (Exception: This is not required if providing theory instruction exclusively.)
Meet one of these:
Have a minimum of two years’ experience operating a CMV requiring a CDL of the same (or higher) class, or the same endorsement; or
Have previously held a CDL of the same (or higher) class; or
Have a minimum of two years’ experience as a BTW CMV instructor.
Behind-the-Wheel (BTW) instructors must:
Hold a CDL of the same (or higher) class, and with all endorsements necessary, to operate the CMV for which training is to be provided.
Meet all applicable State qualification requirements for CMV instructors.
Meet one of these:
Have a minimum of two years’ experience operating a CMV requiring a CDL of the same (or higher) class, or the same endorsement; or
Have a minimum of two years’ experience as a BTW CMV instructor.
Preferred Qualifications
At least fifteen (15) years of related practical work experience as a Truck Driving Program Instructor experience is preferred but not required.
