Job Title: Construction Estimator - Heavy Civil

Location: Jupiter, FL

Overview:

My client is a respected general contractor specializing in heavy civil construction projects up to $25 million. They are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Construction Estimator to join their team. The ideal candidate will have approximately 10 years of experience in estimating heavy civil construction projects, proficiency in Bluebeam and HCSS, and experience with bridge projects is highly desirable. The Construction Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for our projects, ensuring that we continue to deliver exceptional value to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Estimate Preparation: Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects, including earthworks, roadways, utilities, and bridges.
• Plan Review: Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates.
• Cost Analysis: Conduct quantity take-offs, price analysis, and cost evaluations to develop competitive bid proposals.
• Vendor Coordination: Obtain and review quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and comprehensive coverage of project scopes.
• Bid Preparation: Prepare and present bid proposals to clients, ensuring all aspects of the project are covered and clearly communicated.
• Project Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to develop and refine estimates throughout the project lifecycle.
• Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and competitive market conditions to ensure accurate and competitive estimates.
• Software Proficiency: Utilize Bluebeam and HCSS software for estimating, plan reviews, and bid preparations.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain organized records of estimates, bid documents, and correspondence.

Candidate Requirements:

• Experience: Approximately 10 years of experience as a Construction Estimator, specifically in heavy civil construction projects.
• Skills:
• Proficiency in Bluebeam and HCSS software.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and techniques relevant to heavy civil projects.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Desirable: Experience with bridge construction projects.
