Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is seeking a full-time contract attorney with litigation experience for engagement through the firm’s flexible and alternative-track attorney program, DWTSurge. This is a remote position. This position will work with the firm’s Technology practice group and will be dedicated to supporting commercial and IP litigation matters for the firm’s cutting-edge technology and financial institution clients.



Mid to senior level litigation attorneys with experience working with large institutional clients and who are seeking more flexibility in their practice are encouraged to apply. In addition to flexibility, candidates can expect to work closely with DWT attorneys as part of a collaborative team, providing high-value legal services to DWT clients.



This contract position will be full-time. While the engagement is for an initial 6-month contract term, we anticipate the work to remain on-going and there is a possibility of renewal for additional terms for successful candidates. We are looking for attorneys interested in flexible remote work who seek to establish a long-term arrangement working with DWT on an exclusive basis.



The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5+ years of litigation experience in a large law firm setting.
  • Experience with commercial or IP litigation, particularly soft IP litigation, is a plus.
  • Experience working for a top Am Law firm is a plus.
  • Residency and active bar admission in one of the following states: AK, AZ, CA, CT, FL, GA, IL, KS, MD, MN, MT, NY, OK, OR, PA, TN, TX, VA, WA, and WDC.
  • Experience handling all phases of litigation support, including discovery, managing document review, contributing to litigation strategies, drafting motions, and other processes necessary to support a trial-heavy practice.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • High-level of responsiveness and client service abilities.
  • Ability to work with DWT on an exclusive basis.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, as needed.
  • This position requires the ability to support Pacific Time Zone business hours while working remotely.
  • Excellent collaborative skills and the ability to produce high quality work product in a high volume practice.



Please note that this is a temporary contract position managed by DWT’s flexible attorney program, DWTSurge. Compensation will be paid on an hourly basis, commensurate with experience and skill level (see below). This is a benefitted role. Due to the structure of the DWTSurge program, DWTSurge employees are not eligible for the firm’s pro bono, DEI, and other activities or opportunities outside of the above stated scope of work. SALARY RANGE:

The hourly range for this position in CA, WA, DC, and NY is $110 - 150 per hour. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
