Position Description

  • We are seeking a Business Development Analyst to join our client's Merger & Acquisition Department. This department is responsible for executing M&A transactions originated by different business lines and approved by our client's corporate management.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed due diligence on various aspects of target companies, with support from relevant departments.
  • Perform valuation of target companies using different methods, with support from other departments, and evaluate the business plans of targets.
  • Independently handle business proposals, draft the Non-Binding Offer (NBO), develop negotiation strategies and commercial terms for transactions, and reflect these in the term sheet. Negotiate and develop definitive agreements with the assistance of the legal department and other relevant entities.
  • Validate activities to progress proposals through stage gates, prioritize business proposals against investment criteria and the NBD portfolio strategy.
  • Manage all aspects of transaction execution, including project management, selecting, onboarding, and working with advisors.
  • Oversee stakeholder management, working with internal departments, consultants, and potential partners.
  • Assemble initial offerings for potential investors, lead investor selection activities, and coordinate with subject matter experts to draft Memorandums of Understanding/Letters of Intent.
  • Provide administrative direction in developing and reviewing legal documents, including heads of terms, MoUs, cost-sharing agreements, and shareholder agreements, and manage the business portfolio.

Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with various MS Office tools.
  • Strong time-management skills, ability to meet deadlines, and work under stress.
  • Fluency in English (additional languages are a plus).
  • Solid understanding of commercial business models in various sectors (e.g., oil & gas).
  • Experience with risk reporting and dashboards.
  • Understanding of portfolio management principles.
  • Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals.
  • Certifications such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or Project Management Professional (PMP) are advantageous.

Minimum Requirements

  • A successful candidate will preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Business, or Finance from a recognized and approved international program. An MBA or equivalent qualification is a plus but not a requirement.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 10-15 years of experience in business development, including a minimum of five years of experience in M&A transaction execution.
