Our Client is a large and rapidly growing warehousing/3PL leader with millions of square feet in SoCal and throughout the country. The client is looking for a Controller in there Carson, CA office to help them as they grow organically and through acquisitions. They will be responsible for the accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls.

Dynamic Leader and Team player that is a general ledger expert with strong accounting background and able to follow/implement internal controls and who can lead accounting organization internally.

Salary: $175-200K

Responsibilities:

  • Review, analyze and prepare monthly journal entries for month end close, including accruals, amortizations and any other that may be required.
  • Reconcile monthly accounts by way of preparing balance sheet reconciliations for various legal entities and provide explanations for unusual balances.
  • Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements.
  • Provide support for the external financial audit by preparing audit schedules and support documentation as required for designated accounts, and providing explanations as needed.
  • Assist in reviewing and implementing accounting and control procedures as necessary to meet established company goals and comply with regulatory standards.
  • Communicate with each of the businesses to explain/understand variances.
  • Ability to train others on the ERP software and accrual method accounting.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Other responsibilities such as: monitoring and handling intercompany transactions, cash management, bank reconciliations, recording fixed asset acquisitions, and other specific requests as required to support the business.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Accounting from an accredited university is preferred.
  • 5+ years total accounting experience.
  • Logistics experience preferred.
  • Proficient in business related software: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. Strong knowledge of MS office with advance MS Excel skills required.
  • Experience with ERP software: Net Suite or other integrated accounting software experience preferred.
