Based in the Allen Texas Distribution Center (Greater Dallas Area), which is the heart of the supply of parts for their North American business (US domestic supply, Canada and Mexico) and critical to their global operations; we are seeking an experienced Trade Compliance Specialist who is a licensed Customs Broker. This busy role is responsible to champion US trade compliance for exports and imports of manufactured equipment and parts for their North American Supply Chain operations, and to ensure that the company meets all trade compliance and legal requirements for all exports, and imports in The United States.
Position Overview:
Reporting to the North American Regional Transportation, Customs and Compliance Manager, and as part of a larger team of 14 professionals for the Americas; you will be responsible for providing export and import trade compliance advice and services to support the successful movement of product and shipments in and out of the United States. Well familiar with all things US trade related, – you will work to educate and elevate the larger team’s knowledge regarding trade compliance, areas for business improvement and risk mitigation.
Possessing 5+ years of export/import and supply chain operations experience; you are a U.S. licensed Customs Broker seeking challenge and change. Detail oriented, you are at heart a people person, who enjoys removing obstacles, and finding solutions. Not one to get ruffled easily, you tackle challenges/ hiccups in a systematic order, are positive and upbeat and open to new ideas.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Classify/review Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification and Schedule B among multiple company sites, requiring excellent problem-solving skills, methodical thinking, and teamwork with other company departments. Maintain company product database.
- Validate and ensure that parts and design match the definitions in the local applicable dual use lists (such as the US Commerce Control List and the EU dual use).
- Create/advise and report local content reporting programs (USMCA, MILL Cert, Manufacturers Affidavit, etc.) including all reporting duties to customers and/or the government.
- Comply/ensure all parties in transactions comply to Denied / Restricted party Screening requirements.
- Manage POA’s, SOP’s and Customs Bond renewals.
- Complete and ensure accuracy of ADD/CVD, FDA, HS7, TSCA, EPA, CF28 and CF29 etc. and all related forms.
- Create, maintain an update import/export training manuals per new regulations.
- Advise proper clearance procedures for repair and return items.
- Handle & document duty-drawback, reconciliation, post entry audits, prior disclosures, sanctions.
- Support all company North America entities for Trade Compliance purposes
- Assist in identifying potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk, develop / implement corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues in coordination with local leadership, company desk procedures, and provide guidance on how to avoid similar situation in future.
- Perform semi-annual Supply Chain/Trade Compliance Audits.
You Bring:
- US Customs brokers license required
- Member of National Customs Brokers & Forwarders Association of America (NCBFAA)
- CTPAT (Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) Certified
- Minimum 5 Years of import/export and trade compliance experience in a corporate environment, where you have worked internally within a company to support trade compliance (mining, industrial, heavy equipment and / or construction experience preferred).
- Strong trade compliance & supply chain experience
- Preferred knowledge of navigating and interpreting:
a) the Export Administration Regulations (EAR),
b) International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR),
c) Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR),
d) Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE),
e) ACE, AES, OFAC,
f) USMCA Customs regulations and Foreign Trade Regulations
- Strong English communication skills both verbal and written.
- Post secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or equivalent experience.
