Data Architect - Remote | WFH

### Position Overview:

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Data Architect Lead to join our Global Investments strategic program. This role involves working closely with both development teams and our investments data team to drive the design and implementation of a global investment data platform.

### Role Details:

You will play a key role in the software development life cycle, collaborating with our Head of Technology Strategy, Head of Data, Solution Architects, Data Analysts, and Portfolio Delivery function Leads. Your responsibilities will include understanding customer and technical needs to design and implement the data platform, focusing on the Persistence, Integration, and Services layers of the business solutions in compliance with our architecture principles and standards.

#### Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with business and technology team leads for the creation and maintenance of standardized interface layers, data models, and catalogs.
• Join the Pod Leadership team to bring your architectural vision to fruition using agile methodologies, assisting the senior pod lead with the day-to-day oversight of the development team.
• Elaborate architecture designs and work with infrastructure and development teams for their implementation.
• Drive the mission of transforming how business and IT teams work together, promoting rapid delivery of quality, secure software.
• Oversee teams responsible for delivering working software through to production.
• Partner with the head of data, data team, and data analysts to understand business and technology challenges, providing guidance on standardized business logical data models and platform modernization.
• Lead the data design track, document, and communicate solutions that align with Agile Principles.
• Assist in implementing Data Governance Standards and Processes, establishing data domains for reuse, standardization, and security-by-design.
• Introduce self-service capabilities for managing business data catalogs and assets.
• Innovate in design thinking to influence the technology roadmap.
• Participate in architecture reviews and ensure compliance with standards and conventions.
• Support the development teams in delivering architectural designs, championing the latest technologies and trends.
• Ensure efficient processes for software delivery from requirements to production, focusing on value creation, growth, and customer service.
• Maintain an enterprise mindset, fostering collaboration, breaking down silos, and removing blockers.
• Understand Agile processes and practices required for successful and sustainable delivery.
• Plan complex product releases and ensure standard metrics are visible and actively used.
• Own the Continuous Improvement backlog for the Pod, improving time to market, efficiency, and quality.
  
  

### Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in the investment management industry and data domains (clients, portfolios, funds, holdings, transactions, trades, securities/investments, ESG, analytics, performance, IBOR/ABOR/TBOR, benchmarks/indices).
• Ability to translate business needs into conceptual, logical, and physical data model designs.
• Understanding of integration design patterns and reporting solutions.
• Self-motivated, able to excel in a remote position, and effective in collaborating with remote teams.
• Experience in designing and communicating technology solutions.
• Inquisitive mindset with a track record of implementing new technologies and architectural patterns.
• Ability to support self-governance processes and work effectively with distributed teams globally.
• Significant organizational Agile transformation experience.
• Technical skills and qualifications in technologies such as Nifi, Python, Kafka, Databricks, Informatica, data modeling tools, big data/lakehouse/RDBMS/data warehouses, metadata management, data management principles, secure data service architecture, cloud infrastructure, containerization, secure DevOps, APM techniques, and SDLC methodologies.
• Experience with Databricks and Snowflake (for data sharing) is a plus.
• Experience in building denormalized data warehouses for BI users.
  
  

### Preferred Experience:

• Running agile teams from a leadership perspective.
• Implementations involving State Street Alpha and Factset solutions.
• Integrating Snowflake and Databricks.
• Building investment data warehouses or using vended products like Eagle or State Street Alpha.
• Data science, AI, BI tools, and relevant technical or investment domain certifications (e.g., CFA).
• Working with an OCIO investment manager involving traditional and alternative asset classes.
• Enabling citizen development and BI modeling in a governed way.
