WORK OPTION: 4 days a week in the New York, NY office

Position Summary

  • Seeking an Associate Manager in the International Content Partnerships (ICP) department. ICP manages NBA’s media rights internationally. As the media landscape transitions to digital, the NBA has a growing portfolio of partners that are integrated across the NBA’s digital products (nba.com, NBA App, and NBA League Pass). The Digital Partnerships team is part of ICP and acts as a liaison between the international digital partners and NBA product and technology teams. Additionally, its product manages NBA ID account linking partners.
  • You will be instrumental delivering on the department's strategic priorities and enabling our partners to succeed. In addition to the business and product teams, you will be working closely with multiple other departments of the organization: engineering, analytics, marketing, legal, finance, etc.

Major Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the prioritization of projects, partner onboarding and account management roadmaps. Coordinate accordingly with internal and external business, product and engineering teams among others.
  • Co-manage external vendors and coordinate with internal stakeholders to drive product growth.
  • Support in the overall organization of the Digital Partnerships team: maintaining and updating reference documents, internal trackers and project management tools, be a point of contact with the international offices facilitating communication across teams.
  • Become fluent with all areas of NBA’s digital partnerships i.e. Strategy, Platforms, Products, Business Models, Operations etc. Understand its offerings, services, and internal processes needed to better serve the partnerships and support the internal teams.
  • Be proactive and resourceful; solve any issues that might arise with tact and diplomacy.
  • Understand marketplace trends, new products/technologies and consumer behavior to spot opportunities.
  • Review NBA’s digital offerings to ensure best practices and leanings are applied on a global basis.

Required Skills/Knowledge

  • Experience with project management and account management. Ability to plan and oversee implementation of projects from beginning to end. Ability to see the big picture and also to have attention to detail.
  • Outstanding organizational skills with a proven track record in balancing multiple projects, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Committed to quality, able to deliver outstanding fan experiences and value.
  • Proficiency in project management tools e.g. Jira. Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to professionally prepare information to be presented to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a global, matrix organization.
  • Can-do attitude and ability to work on both large projects and smaller operational tasks. Attention to detail.
  • High sense of teamwork!

Experience Needed

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience, at least 2 of them in digital media space. Previous exposure to account management and/or project management.
  • Technology-savvy. Understanding of digital media ecosystem including key players and trends. Understanding of web, mobile and OTT (Over The Top) technologies.
  • Experience managing external partners and vendors.
  • Prior media or sports experience a plus.
  • Understanding of media rights landscape a plus.
  • International experience or knowledge highly preferred. Language skills a plus.

Educational Background Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a technical major preferred

Salary Range: [[$90,000 - $115,000]]
