About Our Client
Our client for the Sales Director OEM opportunity is a manufacturer and distributor of lighting, electronics, control systems, and other related products to the transportation and mobility markets, including automotive, law enforcement, government, fire and rescue, and related. This organization has doubled every 5 years and continues to hit double digit growth year over year.
The Sales Director OEM will report to the Vice President of Sales and Marketing and will develop and execute the sales and customer strategy driving growth and customer satisfaction. The Sales Director will have a proven track record in driving aggressive, but strategic and profitable growth, not managing the Status Quo. This person will have a strong focus on Ford, but also other OEMs including non-passenger vehicle. This is a fully remote position.
Job Description
Increase market share and development new business opportunities with Ford and other OEMs including non-passenger
Build strong customer relationships and strategic partnerships to assess customer needs and recommend appropriate products
Develop strategic roadmaps for key targets and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to grow market share and diverse product portfolio
Manage full customer lifecycle including heavy program and project management
Achieve and exceed Budget Sales and Gross Margin for your OEM customers
Ensure all reports, plans, forecasts and administrative requirements are completed accurately and in a timely manner both personally and for the team.
Meet all reporting deadlines as are set by senior management
Identify new and profitable opportunities with existing customers and leverage these to increase profitable sales with them
Provide regular and relevant feedback on Market conditions, competitor activities and progress towards business objectives.
Analyze the current market position, i.e. the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
Working with the Marketing team develop marketing material, strategies and justify new project opportunities to support the sales effort
Participate in APQP meetings and follow up on commercial and customer related issues
Ensure continuous improvement in a change oriented culture.

The Successful Applicant
Bachelor's Degree in business, engineering, or related
Minimum of 10 years of automotive sales experience calling on OEMs or Tier customers
Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems with accounts in complex technical environments
Strong experience in project and program management seeing programs through entire lifecycle
Experience with electronics, lighting, control systems preferred, but not required
Strong user of data to make decisions and driving market strategy
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Strong presentations and communication skills required
What's on Offer
Competitive base salary $160,000 - $200,000 depending on experience, bonus, company car, full benefits, PTO, holidays, being a part of a growing organization.
