Position Overview:

As the Director of Behavior Health, you will play a pivotal role in leading and overseeing the comprehensive behavioral health services within our organization. Responsible for strategic planning, program development, and operational management, you will guide a multidisciplinary team in delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to individuals facing behavioral health challenges. Leveraging your expertise in mental health services, you will drive initiatives to enhance patient outcomes, optimize resource utilization, and promote a culture of compassion and resilience. With a focus on innovation and collaboration, you will navigate complex regulatory landscapes while fostering partnerships with community stakeholders to address the diverse needs of our patient population. You will also be responsible for identifying new business opportunities to expand the program in New York and across the country. Responsibilities:

  • Strategically lead and oversee the Behavioral Health Department and all behavioral health programs across multiple locations in New York City, New York State, and across the country.
  • Build innovative new behavior health programming that works in tandem with our clinical practice.
  • Ensure the delivery of evidence-based, safe, high quality, efficient behavioral health services and care to our clients.
  • Monitor clinical outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives as needed in partnership with VP of Clinical Quality.
  • Develop and implement new processes and policies aimed at enhancing the quality and effectiveness of behavioral health services, including the establishment of scalation protocols and crisis management procedures to ensure timely and appropriate responses to emergent situations.
  • Partner with third party staffing agencies and a contingent workforce to ensure strong behavioral health results.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service delivery to our clients and provide personalized support and tailored solutions to meet their unique behavior health needs
  • Implement strategies to proactively address client needs and concerns, ensuring a positive experience throughout the contract lifecycles
  • Demonstrate exemplary levels of professionalism in all interactions with clients, partners, colleagues, and stakeholders, fostering a positive and respectful work environment characterized by integrity, empathy, and effective communication.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners, referral sources, and stakeholders.
  • Serve as the voice of the service line in internal meetings and key external conversations, translating day-to-day work into themes, priorities, and narrative.
  • Represent the organization in community meetings, conferences, and collaborations related to behavioral health.
  • Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement behavioral health programs that meet the needs of our community.
  • Stay informed about best practices and trends in behavioral health treatment and incorporate new approaches into existing programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.
  • Maintain accurate and complete clinical records in accordance with organizational policies and legal requirements.
  • Participate in budget planning and management for behavioral health department, monitor expenses, analyze financial reports, and make recommendations for resource allocation.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field. Licensure as a Psychologist, Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Professional Counselor preferred.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in behavioral health settings with increasing levels of responsibility, including clinical supervision and program management.
  • Strong leadership abilities with demonstrated success in team building, staff development, and conflict resolution.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards applicable to behavioral health services.
  • Commitment to maintaining high ethical standards and promoting a culture of integrity and professionalism.
