Orion Solutions Group is working with a global Logistics and Supply Chain Solutions provider that is a preferred partner for businesses seeking robust and adaptive logistics solutions. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Commercial Sales, who will play a critical role in driving revenue growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within the warehousing sector. This individual will play a critical role in developing and executing strategic sales initiatives, identifying opportunities for market expansion, and delivering innovative warehousing solutions that meet the evolving needs of clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Prospecting and Lead Generation: Identify potential clients who require warehousing and distribution services through market research, networking, and cold outreach.
  • Needs Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of clients' warehousing and distribution requirements, including storage space, inventory management, handling processes, and transportation needs.
  • Solution Selling: Develop tailored solutions that address clients' specific warehousing and distribution challenges, such as inventory optimization, order fulfillment, cross-docking, and value-added services.
  • Proposal Development: Create compelling sales proposals and presentations that highlight the benefits and value proposition of the 3PL's warehousing services, including cost savings, scalability, flexibility, and operational efficiency.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate and nurture relationships with key decision-makers and influencers at target accounts, including logistics managers, supply chain directors, procurement officers, and C-suite executives.
  • Negotiation and Contracting: Lead contract negotiations to secure favorable terms and agreements that meet both the client's needs and the company's objectives, while mitigating risks and ensuring compliance.
  • Pipeline Management: Manage the sales pipeline, track opportunities through various stages of the sales cycle, and provide regular updates to management on sales activities, forecasts, and performance metrics.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, competitor activities, and regulatory changes affecting the warehousing and logistics landscape, and leveraging this knowledge to identify opportunities and develop competitive strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Logistics, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial sales, with a proven track record of success in achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Extensive knowledge of the warehousing and logistics industry, including experience selling fulfillment, ecommerce, import/export, dry, or refrigerated warehousing services.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain dynamics, market trends, and customer needs.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time as needed.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
