Position Summary

Responsible for leading all aspects of ADUSA Distribution and Transportation (D&T) Continuous Improvement and Lean Programs. Leading a team of program managers, this role will establish the strategic direction and roadmap for the team. Drive the standardization and use of Lean Principles across all distribution centers, this role is critical in ensuring ADUSA D&T maintains a customer centric approach with the goal of eliminating waste throughout the value stream. This position will help drive improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and productivity. Also responsible for collaborating with business partners across departments and functions to proactively drive supply chain objectives.


Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with leadership in the development and evolution of supply chain strategies and initiatives.
  • Oversee and be a driving force behind the implementation of ADUSA D&T Lean Initiatives Program.
  • Provide strategic direction across all levels of the distribution network for Lean and Continuous Improvement.
  • Responsible for leading a team of Lean/Continuous Improvement program managers, setting priorities, road map creation, project evaluation and ensuring the team meets or exceeds annual savings objectives.
  • Effectively communicate with senior leadership from other organizations to align resources and priorities towards achieving all savings goals.
  • Develop robust CI and Standardization program that accounts for existing sites, growth, and future launch sites.
  • Responsible for creating a Lean Culture, as well as education and advocacy across the entire distribution network.
  • Responsible for working collaboratively with site leadership on the development of and achievement of Lean training and Kaizen events.
  • Establish a Cost savings Plan for the network along with a roadmap for cost per case savings and Kaizen schedule.
  • Ability to analyze large data sets and dig into details to assess trends along with areas of opportunity to improve.
  • Provide leadership that will motivate employees and function as an effective promoter of change and growth.
  • Provide leadership and support in a constantly changing environment.
  • Foster associate engagement, commitment and enthusiasm, ensuring associates understand their role in the company and its impact on overall Banner performance.
  • Promote consistent high performance and execution with excellence.
  • Govern by guiding principles, financial constraints and overall strategy while working within the confines of a pre-identified structure, but able to identify and push the boundaries of the structure when necessary.
  • Lead the implementation of a continuous improvement culture
  • Implement changes to internal process and procedure for areas to streamline efficiencies and introduce savings opportunities.
  • Responsible for the development, talent planning and performance management of associates.
  • Maintain relationships with key suppliers and vendors, and leverage economies of scale in negotiation.
  • Leads communication with internal and external business partners, and the vendor community.
  • Success in this role requires the individual to have and maintain a high degree of organizational and industry credibility.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.


Preferred:

  • Master of Business Administration Degree (MBA)
  • Experience with organizational change management
  • Demonstrated project management expertise incorporating Six Sigma, Lean Principles
  • Experience with category, merchandising, pricing, logistics, retail operations, supply chain, procurement, and distribution

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Distribution or Continuous Improvement environment
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering results and solving complex problems utilizing data
  • Strong financial planning and budgeting experience
  • Cross-functional project leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to build cross-functional teams
