Director of Financial Reporting @ Global Company

Coda Search is excited to partner with a globally renowned company known for its portfolio of market-leading brands in the commercial products sector. This dynamic organization is seeking a highly skilled Director of Financial Reporting to join their team in Fairfield County, CT. The Director of Financial Reporting will play a critical role in overseeing the consolidated financial reporting for over 50 entities, managing SEC filings, and implementing new technical accounting pronouncements. This position requires a strategic leader with a strong technical background and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the consolidated financial reporting package for 50+ entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and SEC regulations.
• Review intercompany transactions and eliminating entries to ensure accurate consolidated financial statements.
• Manage all technical accounting pronouncements and assist with drafting new accounting memos.
• Monitor and implement new technical accounting standards across the group.
• Oversee and review SEC filings, including 10-K and 10-Q reports, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
• Assist in the preparation of disclosures and compliance with SEC requirements.
• Identify and implement process improvements and new accounting policies to enhance efficiency and compliance.
• Ensure robust internal controls in accordance with SOX compliance standards.
• Provide support and guidance during internal and external audits, ensuring thorough and accurate documentation.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on financial reporting and technical accounting.
• Prior public accounting experience, ideally within a Big 4 firm, is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex accounting concepts to various stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
