Position Description

This position will collaborate with leadership to identify, prioritize, plan and execute the research and data analysis required for making complex decisions. This role serves as the primary resource for the development of clear enrollment metrics to guide decision-making, including descriptive statistics and predictive analytics. The Director will assist in building and sustaining a culture of strategic analysis and informed decision-making.

As part of the Graduate, Executive, and Professional Education unit, this position will support the graduate-level enrollment strategy. Reporting to the Assistant Provost for Graduate Enrollment, the Director will provide critical analysis of Graduate enrollment trends. This position will develop and maintain reports and dashboards that inform strategic recruitment and enrollment decisions. Going beyond the standard metrics, the Director will develop reports that will measure return on investment (ROI), conversion and yield statistics, event registrations, goal tracking by college, program, term, and more. They will investigate prospective student and applicant behavior throughout their engagement and apply these insights to improve the recruitment strategy over time.

Responsibilities

  • Create a cogent set of reports and analysis of data leading to a durable enrollment infrastructure.
  • Perform analysis using statistical modeling software to analyze and interpret data that will inform decision making.
  • Assist with quality assurance and quality control of data to ensure the accuracy and integrity of reports generated.
  • Analyze trends using historical data, market trends and other relevant information to create predictive enrollment models.
  • Develop models and strategies to identify new markets for potential recruitment and scholarship strategies.
  • Train and support key stakeholders to ensure data is fully leveraged.
  • Regularly create ad-hoc reporting on enrollment and recruitment activities.
  • Perform extensive data mining from numerous sources of information including but not limited to the student information system and CRM software.
  • Track key performance indicators and metrics related to enrollment and recruitment activities.
  • Provide strategic analysis and recommendations to drive enrollment decision-making.
  • Design reliable and sustainable best practice reports.
  • Translate information received from campus partners into research priorities that support strategic priorities.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following professional qualifications and personal characteristics:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in higher education, preferably in working with data from recruitment/admissions and/or other student records with a special emphasis on the student admissions cycle from admissions to enrollment.
  • 3-5 years of advanced practical experience with report creation and analysis, data management, and data visualization software, preferably Technolutions Slate CRM.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic statistical concepts and programming language of analytical software such as SAS, R, and SPSS. Knowledge of relational databases, specifically SQL.
  • Knowledge of student information systems, preferably Ellucian Colleague.
  • Working knowledge of data management concepts including relational databases, data security, data governance, and system maintenance.
  • Strong analytical and data management skills.
  • Ability to convey technical conclusions to a non-technical audience.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including effective writing, public speaking and persuasive competencies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders of all levels across the organization.
  • Understanding of FERPA and other federal compliance relevant to higher education data usage.
  • Understanding of financial aid and leveraging techniques.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Compensation At a Glance

Salary Range: $99,000 - $109,270

Seattle University has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, and not based on a candidate’s gender or any other protected status.

Hybrid Eligible*

This position may be eligible for a hybrid schedule after successful completion of an introductory work period of 3-6 months. This may mean that a hybrid eligible role will begin on-campus initially and then will transition to hybrid format following onboarding and training. Flexible work plans are subject to periodic review and may be changed or terminated at any time for any reason at the university’s discretion.
