Under the direction of the Executive Director, this role carries 24-hour responsibility for nursing care of all residents through the performance of nursing personnel as outlined in their job descriptions. The role is essential for adherence to all State and Federal Guidelines for Skilled Nursing Facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Direct Resident Care: Ultimately responsible for the assessment of resident’s needs (MDS) and development of resident’s plan of care with goals to ensure the residents achieve optimal care and services.
Supervision: Regularly evaluates the progress toward these goals by resident rounds, observation of staff, and change of shift reports.
Regulatory Requirements: Responsible for auditing charts regularly to ensure pertinent and accurate documentation has been completed, including Medication Administration Records (MARS), treatment sheets, Flow Sheets, incident reports, and Acute Change in Condition.
Staffing and Training: Directly responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, counseling, and evaluating nursing personnel. Also responsible for creating nursing schedules according to budgeted hours and State Minimum Staffing Patterns.
Organizational Duties: Responsible for the disposal of narcotics according to policy, end of month Medication reviews, education to all staff according to policy, incident reporting process, restorative nursing program, performance improvement, and infection control program.
Submission Requirements
5 Years' experience as a Nurse Supervisor in a SNF - Required
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing as a Registered Nurse - Required
State License Requirements
