Director of Payroll

This is a seasonal position through early November 2024. On Island Basic Housing and Meals provided at $17/day.

Join our team as a Director of Payroll and play a pivotal role in managing our financial operations. The Director of Payroll is responsible for leadership of the time, attendance and payroll processes for our locations.  Successful management of the payroll manager and collaboration with the corporate payroll team is essential.  Be proficient in payroll regulations and provide guidance to location management.  Audit payroll data to ensure accuracy of payment.  Ensure files are maintained to support payments.  Assist payroll manager with troubleshooting payroll discrepancies to get to resolution.  Ensure audit standards and reporting are meeting internal audit standards at all times.  Communicate updates regarding time and attendance system or payroll changes to team members and management team as required.  Ensure timely and accurate entering of hours for payroll purposes per the corporate standard operating procedures.  Suggest and support new processes to support our location’s unique payroll needs as appropriate.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• One year of accounting experience in the hospitality industry
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Experience with financial reporting and analysis
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with accounting software and systems, such as QuickBooks and Oracle
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
