Director of Payroll

Our colleagues client is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director of Payroll to join our organization. The Director of Payroll will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for our employees. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll management, including experience with multi-state payroll and large employee populations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Oversee the payroll processing team to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
• Manage relationships with external payroll service providers.
• Analyze payroll data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Work closely with HR and finance teams to ensure accurate reporting and budgeting.
• Stay current on payroll laws and regulations and ensure compliance.
• Provide leadership and direction to the payroll team, including coaching and development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in payroll management.
• Experience with multi-state payroll and large employee populations.
• Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with payroll software and systems, such as Workday.
