KBW Financial Staffing and Recruiting is seeking a highly qualified Payroll Manager for our client near Portland, Maine. This Payroll Manager is an excellent opportunity for a professional with strong, hands on payroll knowledge with prior experience managing a payroll team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Payroll Manager/Supervisor who is looking to manage a small payroll team, while being apart of a growing organization with great overall benefits and company culture.

Key Responsibilities For The Payroll Manager Position

  • Oversee payroll operations to ensure accurate and timely processing of scheduled payrolls. Establish and maintain critical payroll controls and procedures, conduct pre- and post-payroll processing audits, resolve technical and processing issues
  • Payroll process improvements
  • Manage accounts payable operations to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices and expense reports.
  • Audit on reimbursement forms, vendor invoices, and other items to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Understanding of all federal and state wage and hour laws, FIT/SIT/Local/FICA withholdings, SUI reporting, student FICA exemptions, federal/state/creditor withholding
  • Coordinate and produce IRS Forms W-2, 1099-MISC, 1099-NEC, 1042-S, and 941, along with other required reporting standards.
  • Ensure timely remittance and reporting of all federal, state, local, and foreign taxes.
  • Ensure accuracy of 401(a) calculations and timely remittance of all 401(a) and 403(b) contributions, along with other payroll-related calculations and remittances.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accountancy, or a related field;
  • CPP certification is strongly preferred but not required
  • Prior payroll management experience is required
  • Experience working with payroll's ranging from 800-1000+ employees
  • Strong Payroll/HRIS systems experience
