The Director of Sales and Leasing helps execute comprehensive leasing campaigns that build and sustain strong sales revenue. Coordinates and initiates sales and marketing related functions of the community. Implements sales and outreach plans that will meet and exceed the overall approved operating budget census goals and financial objectives. The Director of Sales and Leasing is responsible for overseeing, developing and implementing all leasing and outreach functions at the community. The position also requires being able to establish effective working relationships with all staff, Residents and their families, and those individuals involved in organizations that support the senior housing industry. He or she manages all leasing efforts for the community, which includes developing and maintaining full occupancy within the parameters of the approved operating budget.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Adheres to and conveys a philosophy that supports the dignity, privacy, independence, choice, and individuality of Residents
  • Adheres to prospect centered selling philosophy and practices
  • Maintains network of referral sources, providing information via marketing materials or presentations as needed
  • Develops, manages, and monitors new leasing campaigns
  • Researches, writes, and distributes press releases
  • Manages inventory of marketing materials and adheres to set budgets
  • Upon request works with outside vendors of production of marketing and sales materials
  • Conducts research and analyses results as needed
  • Establishes department goals and ensures all stated goals are met
  • Conduct tours, luncheons, or other strategies with prospective Residents and prospective Residents groups
  • Responsible for conducting sales calls to designated targeted referral sources which may include but not be limited to physicians, hospitals, social workers and community organizations
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Physical Requirements

  • Demonstrated success in planning, implementing, and evaluating successful prospect advancement strategies campaigns
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills
  • Excellent emotional intelligence skills, communication, and presentation skills
  • Superior relationship building, networking, and customer service skills
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, which may include working days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress
  • Strong organization skills, able to multi-task, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly professional and dependable

Education & Experience

  • College degree in Human Behavior based or a related field preferred
  • At least two years of direct involvement in a selling oriented environment with preference in sales and marketing of senior living or an equivalent combination
  • At least one year of supervisory or management experience
