This is a Director of Surgical Services position and requires someone who has an RN license in Texas, Surgical services experience and a BSN Degree. As a Director of Surgical Services, your roles and responsibilities will include:
The Director is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and managing resources for one to two department(s) on a twenty-four (24) hour basis.
These responsibilities include budget responsibility; efficient/effective resource utilization; recruitment and effective/efficient management of assigned staff; achieving quality outcomes; performance improvement; monitoring of quality and quantity of services; maintaining positive working relationships with staff and System departments and managers and purchasing and maintaining equipment.
Completes established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Most Importantly, You Need To Be a Passionate Director Of Surgical Services Who Enjoys His Work And Is Considered To Be One Of The Best Within Your Organization. The Ideal Director Of Surgical Services Would Be Someone With Deep Experience In Many (if Not All) Of The Following
Minimum education: Bachelors degree in nursing.
Preferred education: Masters degree in nursing, Business or a Related Field.
Minimum experience: 5 years experience in discipline or specialty.
Preferred experience: 3-5 years of progressively responsible management experience.
Required certifications/licensure: Possession of current Texas State License for Registered Nurse.
Preferred certifications/licensure: Specialty or Administration certification desired.
Required courses/completions (e.g., CPR): BLS Obtained through approved American Heart Association Training Center or the Military Training Network.
