Purpose of Position:
The Divisional Controller is a key member of Management and is responsible for overseeing the financial performance of the division as well as providing financial analysis and guidance to the General Manager.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Analyze financial reports, determine cash flow forecast and develop new financial strategies to achieve revenue goals.
2. Evaluate financial performance and generate profit and loss statements.
3. Propose several financial options to support business objectives.
4. Identify financial risks and develop appropriate action plans.
5. Discuss financial terms and conditions with customers and perform negotiations when needed.
6. Account for log procurement and perform financial analysis on cost and adequacy of log supply.
7. Provide support to the sales team on the profitability of various cutting programs.
8. Provide support in budget preparation and expense management activities.
9. Coordinate with management in financial analysis and planning operations.
10. Generate financial reports to management in timely and accurate manner.
11. Maintain accounting control parameters and recommend improvements to current control procedures.
12. Work with Auditors in performing financial audits
13. Provide guidance to financial staff when needed.
14. Perform month-end reconciliation and account closing processes
15. Participate in team meetings to discuss about financial results and issues.
Other:
1. Performs other duties as assigned and /or required
2. Travel to other US divisions may be required

Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, team building and negotiations skills
Ability to exercise a high degree of discretion and judgment
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships and act as a facilitator
Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills
Proven ability in financial analysis
Strong organizational skills with the desire to accept the challenge of working in continually changing internal and external business conditions
Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
Experience, Training, Certification and Education (demonstrating requirements):
Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience
10+ years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation.
Preference will be given to candidates with a Certified Public Accountant designation.
