DEPARTMENT: Elkhart County Judiciary - Court Services
HIRING RANGE:$2,580.00-$2,866.40/bi-weekly, based on education and position related experience. Longevity pay after 3 years.

Job Summary
The Elkhart County Juvenile Detention Center is seeking a dedicated and qualified Education Specialist to join their dynamic team. This position will be responsible for providing educational activities and instruction, documenting student educational needs/progress, supervising assigned staff, and helping students achieve academic success and personal growth.
Job Requirements
Valid Indiana Teacher’s License or ability to obtain one within six (6) months; Bachelor’s Degree in Education (or related field) required and at least five (5) years’ experience working as a licensed teacher; Master’s Degree in Education (or related field) preferred
Practical knowledge of educational theories, practices, and legal requirements with ability to provide current and relevant educational activities and instruction, implement individualized accommodations, and utilize educational software
Ability to implement Title I resources to meet educational needs of disadvantaged students
Complete annual education and Title I audits
Working knowledge of and ability to apply for and administer state and federal grant programs
Working knowledge of Juvenile IDOC and PREA standards
Ability to manage classroom behaviors effectively
Must be at least 21 years of age
