The Entertainment Technician (Traveling) position at IWG Productions works in a generalist capacity to support the technical installation of events, shows and experiences. This includes, but is not limited to, carpentry, electrical and rigging labor.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have a minimum of two years of experience working in a technical theater or themed entertainment environment role, commiserate experience in general construction may be considered.
  • Willing to work at heights up to and over 40 feet.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, both in-person and on the phone.
  • Proven ability to work in collaboration with others.
  • Confidence in completing small projects and working independently with little ongoing oversight.

Preferred Qualification

  • Experience operating and/or operation certification on any of the following: boom lifts, counterbalance forklifts and tele-handler forklifts.
  • Comfort driving large vehicles and driving and backing trailers.
  • Experience with theatrical rigging.
  • Working knowledge and comfort working with 120V electrical systems and low voltage electrical systems.
  • Carpentry experience, including comfort operating a variety of necessary power tools.
  • Baseline knowledge of theatrical lighting, A/V systems and special effects.

Position Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist with the installation of unique consumer products, which may include rigging, décor, sets, lighting, and A/V tasks.
  • Work shifts averaging 10 hours daily, recognizing the need for flexibility depending on job site conditions, weather conditions and unforeseen circumstances.
  • Reports directly to the Technical Director of each installation site.
  • Work as a member of a team of 2+ to meet production goals and task lists as outlined by the Technical Director or other leadership.
  • Report daily to the Technical Director regarding progress on completing tasks, needs in order to complete tasks and unexpected challenges.
  • Utilize a variety of hand and power tools, keeping track of what belongs to you and what is provided by IWG Productions.
  • Adhere to all expectations as outlined in the IWG Employee Handbook.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Project Manager or other leadership.

Salary: $150-$400/Day
