Executive Director - Cayuga Addiction Recovery Services

This key leadership role will have administrative oversight of Cayuga Addiction Recovery Services (CARS). CARS is comprised of a 60-bed men's residential facility in Trumansburg, outpatient and opioid treatment programs in Ithaca and Cortland, and soon-to-be a mobile medication unit and 25-bed women's residential facility. The leader will plan, coordinate and implement comprehensive substance use prevention and treatment services throughout the Cayuga Health System service area. This position requires an analytical, solution-oriented, engaged, and compassionate leader with a deep understanding of operational processes that drive growth. Roles And Responsibilities

  • Serve as the administrator, with overall responsibility for operational effectiveness of the residential, outpatient, and mobile unit areas at CARS. Provide oversight to the organization's programs, financial performance, and stewardship of physical assets. Demonstrate strong financial acumen to manage the budget and optimize resource allocations for CARS residential and outpatient facilities.
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance services, quality of care and client outcomes. Collaborate with leadership to align goals with organizational objectives. Actively participate on and contribute to the development of the behavioral health service line. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders with special attention given to industry experts, regulatory agencies, and community leaders.
  • Ensure compliance with Office of Substance Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) and Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) regulatory standards, license and certification requirements and that policies, procedures and processes are aligned therein. Stay abreast of regulatory changes, industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in addiction services.
  • Provide oversight to directors, managers, and staff. Work with leadership to ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained, that staff and providers are well supported and productive, and oversee employee engagement and improvement efforts. Meet regularly with staff and providers regarding operations, program expansion, quality improvement activities, and resolve issues.
  • Oversee contracting of substance use services throughout the CHS region, including securing and administering contracted services from various funding sources including OASAS, Department of Corrections, and other state, county, and community-based agencies.

Required Skills And Experience

  • Education - Master's degree required. Educational focus preferred in Business, Public Health, or Healthcare Administration.
  • Experience - 5 or more years of experience in healthcare leadership, including demonstrated experience with second-level management.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Ability to work in and understand a highly regulated environment.
  • Working knowledge of one or more of the following NYS regulatory frameworks: NYS OASAS, OMH, OPWDD, OCFS, DOH and/or Medicaid/Medicare

Physical Requirements

  • 90% sitting, 10% standing.

Compensation Disclosure

  • $125,000 to $150,000 per year
