THE DEPARTMENT: OCIO

The Office of the CIO (OCIO) is responsible for cross-functional IT Management capabilities that enable efficient operation of the IT business. The OCIO focuses on supporting IT's operating model by ensuring a consistent, transparent, and efficient approach to how the IT organization delivers value to its partners. The core areas of the OCIO include Contract Management, Culture, Program Management Office, and Investment Management, all essential to the long-term success of IT.

THE POSITION: Expert IT Business Process Specialist

PG&E is seeking a highly motivated IT Business Process Specialist - Expert to join our team. This role is essential in establishing a Project Management Center of Excellence, ensuring top-tier project management documentation, and providing exceptional training capabilities. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in delivering infrastructure and application programs/projects using SAFe and Waterfall methodologies. A strong collaborator and self-starter, you will be instrumental in supporting IT’s operational model by streamlining processes and ensuring efficient project delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Create, update, and enforce project management standards, templates, and processes.
  • Ensure project documentation aligns with enterprise standards and industry best practices.
  • Establish a Project Management Community of Practice.
  • Develop and implement project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) tailored to organizational needs.
  • Regularly review and refine methodologies to adapt to changing business environments and technologies.
  • Lead training and support for project managers and team members on PMO standards and methodologies.
  • Conduct workshops and training sessions to enhance project management capabilities across the organization.
  • Monitor project compliance with established standards and methodologies.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure adherence to PMO policies and procedures.
  • Manage and optimize project management tools and systems.
  • Provide support and training on project management software and tools.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains.
  • Implement best practices and lessons learned from completed projects.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for all PMO processes and standards.
  • Generate regular reports on project status, compliance, and performance metrics.
  • Automate reports and streamline reporting processes.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements.
  • Ensure stakeholder engagement and buy-in for PMO standards and initiatives


Qualifications:

  • EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
  • EXPERIENCE: 7+ years years of experience in project management or a PMO role.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, ACP, SAFe, or similar project management certification preferred.
  • Proven experience in leading PMOs and managing complex programs/projects using waterfall, agile, and hybrid methodologies.
  • Experience in developing and implementing project management standards and methodologies.
  • Expertise in creating training materials and leading training sessions with large teams.
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, training, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Planisware, PPM).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
