Our Client, a family office in the investment management business based in the Baltimore area is looking for a finance associate. This position will help with the accounting and reporting of the company’s investment and family office activities, reporting directly to the Controller.
Responsibilities:
Investment and portfolio monitoring (board meetings, quarterly letters, statements, etc.).
Data aggregation, analytics, and performance reporting.
Financial planning, analysis, and modeling.
Investment database management (deal docs, third party correspondence, etc.).
General accounting function involvement (month-end close, account reconciliations, quarterly valuations).
Audit and tax filing assistance (prepared by third party firms).
Ad hoc research, accounting and finance projects and analysis.
Requirements:
3-4 years of experience in financial analysis or related field (audit, tax, transaction advisory, FP&A).
CPA preferred.
Familiarity with alternative investments and/or family office preferred.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Team player, self-motivated, and entrepreneurial.
Ability to compile, organize, and synthesize large amounts of financial data for both historical analysis and forecasting purposes.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
