Fiscal Analyst 2 -- Remote | WFH

What You Will Be Doing

As a Fiscal Analyst 2 within the Accounts Receivable team, you will independently perform general or specialized fiscal duties under supervision. Your responsibilities will include adhering to state regulations and agency policies to execute complex financial analyses and resolve receivable discrepancies. You will ensure accurate billing and accounts receivable transactions for client agencies, adhering to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and state regulations. Reporting to the Accounts Receivable Supervisor, you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support DES programs and small agency partners.

Duties

Process complex accounts receivable transactions for DES Small Agencies (SAFS), ensuring timely and accurate processing.

Handle invoice adjustments and facilitate discussions to ensure billing accuracy and customer satisfaction.

Utilize various statewide systems for financial analysis and reconciliation.

Regularly collaborate with stakeholders to improve communication and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Required:

15 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting, auditing, or budgeting, or commitment to attain within 12 months of hire.

Bachelor's degree in accounting, public administration, business administration, or related field OR equivalent experience.

Experience in accounting, auditing, or relevant financial field.

Preferred

Proficiency in MS Office Suite and 10-key by touch.

Strong communication and customer service skills.

Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain accuracy.

Knowledge of GAAP and state government accounting rules.
