Graduate Applications & Development Engineer

In your role as Applications & Development Engineer, you will support the business with bespoke solutions, advising key customers in the integration of their equipment into their vehicles, as well as getting involved in the design of prototypes. A customer facing role, this challenging facing position requires a degree qualified engineer that has gained some industry experience (placement year or post graduation) with excellent communication skills. Our client's products are heavily biased towards (but not limited to) the commercial vehicle industry so experience in this field is highly desirable, however they are also open to automotive industry experience. Experience with CAD and Data Logging equipment, i.e., CAN (Controller Area Network), telematics is essential. Your responsibilities as Applications & Development Engineer will include: - Provide exceptional customer service and a proactive approach focused on the aftermarket and also on occasion OEM customers - Liaise with customers and suppliers to develop solutions to applications problems/opportunities - Manage the bespoke product modification for customers via the global supplier base - Preparation of project documentation including 2 & 3D CAD technical drawings, BoMs, system schematics, specifications, and installation/integration instructions - Provide technical information and support in the preparation of quote/tender documentation, business development and trial installations - Deliver technical training programs for customers and colleagues throughout the group Your profile: - Degree qualified - Automotive/Electronics/Electrical Engineering - Broad understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles, with at least basic knowledge of DC circuits, analogue and digital electronics - Ability to design, interpret and implement complex test procedures methodically. - Ability to coordinate the design of systems with multiple requirements. - Ability to construct timing plans, schedule work tasks and manage team activities to completion. - Experience with at least one of the following: CAD, Data Logging equipment, i.e., CAN (Controller Area Network), telematics.
