Grants Plus United States

Who We Are:

Grants Plus is the nation’s most trusted and experienced professional grant seeking firm. We are a remote-first business headquartered in Ohio with team members who work from home across the United States. Our staff is motivated by a passion to help nonprofits secure grant funding so they can achieve their missions. To be at our best for our clients, we believe we must be at our best for ourselves and for each other, which is why we are committed, individually and collectively, to “doing good while being well,” and to living out our company values of Accountability, Bravery, Adaptability, and Partnership.

Grants Plus has operated as a flexible workplace since our founding in 2007. Over the years, we have honed leading-edge practices that foster our individual and company growth. Following are just some of the ways that our team experiences the Grants Plus workplace:

  • Cross-team opportunities to review metrics, set and meet goals, and solve challenges in a fast-paced and iterative environment.
  • Shared expectations for using simple, direct, and respectful communication.
  • Family-friendly policies and flexible schedules that support our team members, 80% of whom are women, as empowered professionals, and whole people.
  • Staff-driven initiatives that continuously shape a dynamic and inclusive company culture.
  • Opportunities for coaching and mentoring from peers and leaders.
  • Company-sponsored professional development that challenges us to grow in our business sophistication and our skills as consultants and practitioners.
  • Technology that enables us to collaborate with clients and colleagues anywhere.

The Role:

Joining Grants Plus is an opportunity to go beyond excellence in grant writing. As a Grants Consultant, you will deliver best-in-class grant writing and grant research products, as well as serve as a strategic advisor to a portfolio of nonprofit clients. Your role will include fostering relationships and contributing to client retention and renewal strategies. You will embrace opportunities to share your expertise and thought partnership with colleagues, clients, peers at other consulting firms, and the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors.

A successful Grants Consultant will demonstrate:

  • Time management: The ability to meet specific, and frequently tight, deadlines and to manage time effectively against billable hours targets and revenue goals.
  • Communication: A commitment to communicating proactively with clients and colleagues to achieve progress and align expectations.
  • Goal orientation: An inclination to set and achieve goals for oneself and for clients in a fast-paced and often high-pressure environment.
  • Client satisfaction: An orientation to deliver professional and exceptional experience and deliverables to clients.
  • Business acumen: A motivation to contribute to company objectives and participate in the growth and health of the business.

This is a great fit if you…

  • Have substantial experience (5+ years) working in grant consulting, grant writing, or funding strategy.
  • Thrive as a strategic partner to a diverse client base, focusing on intricate grant proposals and grant funding strategy.
  • Appreciate working with a set of diverse software/systems and a team of grant professionals on complex client challenges.
  • Enjoy the autonomy and ambiguity that comes with a small rapid growth stage company.
  • Are passionate about growing your expertise, coaching clients, and creating and guiding grant funding strategies that ultimately support the communities our nonprofit clients serve.

This won’t be the right fit if you…

  • Prefer a one-client-at-a-time approach as opposed to managing multiple engagements simultaneously.
  • Need constant and direct supervision. We are searching for leaders who excel at proactively identifying challenges and recommending creative solutions.
  • Have the desire to be an independent contractor. This is a full-time position, and we prioritize a team-based approach in our client work.
