Home Textile Designer

Our client, a leading home manufacturing company, is seeking a Home Textiles Designer to join their team in NYC. This role will be focusing on products such as Soft Window Curtains, Shower Curtains, Decorative Pillows, and Throws.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in the entire product design process, from initial concept to the final product, including preparations for market week and specific customer projects.
• Adapt colorways for existing designs to align with trends or customer requirements for both presentation and production.
• Develop comprehensive tech packs for our overseas production teams.
• Assess and provide feedback on factory samples concerning pattern, color, and construction to ensure production quality.
• Design concept boards and prepare PowerPoint presentations for both customer and internal use.
• Conduct trend analysis and competitive shopping to innovate and understand market dynamics.
• Collaborate closely with the Sales and Production teams based in NYC.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Textile/Fabric Design or a related discipline.
• At least two years of experience in Home Textile or Fashion design.
• A keen eye for color and trend forecasting.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational prowess.
• Advanced proficiency in design software, including CAD, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
• Knowledge of pattern and surface design; experience with jacquards is desirable.

$70,000-$75,000 commensurate of experience
