Human Resources Generalist

This position will be responsible for providing general human resources and training support in an accurate and timely manner for the staff of ACES.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the full life-cycle of ACES recruiting process for new employees and transfer employees to include:
  • Partnering with hiring manager to determine staffing needs.
  • Obtain appropriate approvals to fill the position and utilize the application tracking system to manage the position.
  • Post positions, screen resumes, arrange interviews and interview potential candidates as needed.
  • Make recommendations to hiring manager on candidate status.
  • Prepare and obtain approval on all employment offers to selected candidates.
  • Administer background checks and drug testing process.
  • Determine appropriate advertising methods to include traditional and non-traditional resources such as career fairs, community network events, social media tools, job boards, etc., to ensure high visibility with potential candidates.
  • Coordinate the onboarding process for new employees to ACES.
  • Notify appropriate departments of hiring and transfer changes.
  • Conduct new employee orientation.
  • Oversee staff relocations
  • Assist employees with enrollment in benefits.
  • Ensures completion of appropriate LMS training.
  • Administer the annual staff incentive program
  • Coordinate the ACES Internship Program to include recruitment, selection, onboarding and program activities.
  • Assist the Training Manager with design, development and delivery of training courses by applying a systematic approach to training (ADDIE) methodology in completing training projects.
  • Triage LMS issues, research and provide resolutions and reach out to requesters as needed to clarify requests, recognize gaps and inconsistencies, and troubleshoot/escalate as needed.
  • Research HR issues and provide guidance and recommendations for problem resolution to HR management, department supervisors and employees.
  • Develop reports for management as requested.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Adheres to and is supportive of all ACES corporate policies and complies with all regulatory requirements including but not limited to NERC, FERC and relevant state regulations as applicable to the position.
  • Any additional responsibilities assigned by management.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in human resources or related field preferred
  • Minimum of two years of work experience in human resources or equivalent field preferred
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems and/or HRIS/Payroll software preferred
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate unquestionable ethics and trust
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, managers and business associates
  • Expertise in using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Highly motivated, self-directed work ethic, organizational skills
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects
  • Ability to identify and solve problems in an effective manner
  • Present facts and recommendations effectively in written and oral form
