Job Description

Title: Instructional designer

Type: 3-month contract with potential to extend, remote

Overview: We are seeking a talented and experienced Instructional Designer to join our team and assist with updating existing and designing new onboarding modules for sales associates. This role requires a creative and analytical individual with strong writing, video, visual design, and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather information and insights.
  • Shadow field associates to gain a thorough understanding of their day-to-day activities and training needs.
  • Script and storyboard engaging and effective learning content.
  • Develop and build a variety of instructional materials including video content, eLearning modules, and job aids.
  • Utilize video editing tools and the Microsoft Office Suite to create and refine content.
  • Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to ensure content meets learning objectives and organizational goals.
  • Manage projects to ensure timely delivery of training materials.

Required Skills:

  • Strong writing and visual design capabilities.
  • Proficiency in video editing tools and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to create engaging and informative content in various formats including video, eLearning, and job aids.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Meet with SMEs to gather content requirements and understand training needs.
  • Participate in shadowing field associates to gain insights into their roles.
  • Script and storyboard content to ensure it is engaging and instructional.
  • Develop and produce video content, eLearning modules, and job aids.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure consistency and quality of training materials.

Interview Process: The interview process will include one interview where candidates will be asked to provide a design sample based on a scenario. This will allow us to assess your design skills and ability to create effective instructional content.
