Interior Designer

Studio Eastman is looking for a qualified, entry-level interior designer to join our team. We are a small design firm based in Portland, ME taking full-service interior design jobs around New England and beyond. Candidates should be close to Portland so that we can have collaborative studio days, but work will also frequently be remote. This is a contract position, with a flexible number of hours a week.

Responsibilities

• Create conceptual designs within a project rhetoric
• Accompany team members on site visits to meet clients and contractors and take notes
• Communicate effectively with client, vendors and team in order to address client's needs
• Assist Architectural Designer in comprehensive construction sets via ArchiCAD
• Prepare presentations, including 2D and 2D models, for clients
• Assist firm with all product and material procurement for projects
• Create specification books for products and materials
• Organize sample library & office materials

Qualifications

• 1-3 years work experience in related field
• Proficient in ArchiCAD (will also accept applications with proficiency in AutoCAD)
• Knowledge of construction documentation for interior design needs
• Strong creative and communication skills
• Organizational skills
