We are seeking a dedicated International Student Advisor to join our team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in supporting our international student community by providing comprehensive assistance and guidance in alignment with established procedures and protocols. As an integral member of our team, you will ensure adherence to federal regulations while coordinating academic and related matters for prospective and current students with professionalism and care.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) to offer academic and immigration advising, as well as outreach services to international students.
Manage student requests for immigration benefits and maintain accurate records, including the creation and upkeep of Forms I-20.
Utilize specialized knowledge to interpret and apply complex federal regulations and academic policies effectively.
Collaborate closely with university stakeholders to ensure compliance with federal regulations governing international student enrollment.
Provide guidance and support to international students throughout their academic journey, addressing their needs with empathy and efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
Eligibility for certification by the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as a Designated School Official (DSO).
US citizenship or permanent residency, as required by federal regulations.
Experience in interpreting and applying federal immigration laws and regulations.
Background in higher education academic support.
Demonstrated ability to make informed decisions in complex situations with discretion and independence.
Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with experience working with diverse populations.
Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Anthology and Salesforce platforms.
This is a full-time remote position offering competitive compensation between $38,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year, along with comprehensive benefits including 401(k), dental insurance, health insurance, paid time off, and vision insurance.
Schedule
8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday.
