IT Systems Administrator, Windows, Linux, onsite

DeVine provides technical and scientific support to government clients working in Space science among other disciplines.

We contributeto a project in Mountain View, CA, that focuses on thedevelopment of technologies for use in: the design and fabrication of prototype vehicles that travel in the solar system, including access to Earth orbit and reentry, sustained high-altitude hypersonic flight and planetary entry.DeVineprovides a variety of IT support services to achieve mission objectives.

We are looking for anIT Systems Administratorto work onsite in Mountain View California. Current and historical Windows Systems experience is relevant. There are also various Linux networks needing support. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of various Microsoft operating systems, and also will have at least some working knowledge of Linux operating systems. Success will require an ability to problem solve, and the ability to learn new networking technologies if the answers aren't immediately apparent.

Summary of Duties:

• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain various versions of Microsoft operating systems
• Administer Virtual Machines (VMs)
• If no previous knowledge,learn and problem solve Linux operating systems
• Work with Jira and Confluence
• Write or learn to write scripts such as bashwhen required
• Monitor system performance and anticipate needs
• Maintain operating system standards, security updates, tuning, and upgrades
• Must have experience implementing IT cyber security specifications and procedures
• Control access permissions and privileges
• Ensure that storage and archiving procedures are implemented and functioning correctly
• Actively participate in disaster recovery & business continuity planning, documentation, implementation, validation, and executions
  
  

Preferred experience and requirements:

• 5+ years administering enterprise level Microsoft Operating systems
• 2+ years with VMs such as VMware
• Linux OS experience desired
• Ability to learn new and older operating system versions in Windows and Linux
• Script writing experience desired
• Bachelor's Degree or higher a plus
• Previous experience in HPC network environment a plus
• CompTIA Security+ certification or higher a plus
• Microsoft 365 Expert Administrator certification a plus
• Good verbal and written communication skills required

Compensation: $105,000 - $118,000 yearly DOE and skills
