Logistics and Transportation Program Manager

This is a lead position that will serve as a key interface and trusted advisor across Toast Hardware Operation and specifically to the Planning, NPI and Commercial teams. This position will look to drive logistics and transportation operational excellence through approaching problems with curiosity and challenging the status quo. This role will help drive standardization in thought around logistics processes and the way new partners, customers and products are introduced to the Toast supply chain network. This person will bring to the table subject matter expertise on logistics and transportation to help Toast ensure customer satisfaction, adhere to financial objectives and prepare for scale while remaining in compliance with international regulations in all of the regions that Toast operates in today and will potentially operate in the future.

About this roll* (Responsibilities)

• Participate actively cross functionally to ensure alignment of logistics strategy is developed and set for new products that will be introduced
• Provide guidance and input as needed pertaining to aspects of logistics (i.e. Inbound/Import Transportation, Domestic Trucking, Outbound Fulfillment and Export)
• Build Toast’s expected standards and communicate them clearly in regard to our requirements across logistics and transportation (i.e. Routing guides, shipment efficiency, packaging expectations, pallet heights, ordering increments and other good logistics practices)
• Outline risks that are identified with appropriate stakeholders to ensure all are aware of potential impact to Toast that is centered around Cost, Quality and Efficiency
• Support function leadership in identifying and implementing cost savings initiatives for year over year improvements in landed and delivered costs
• Support function leadership in identifying and leading cross functional logistics special projects
• Mentor and coach HW Operations team members and other Toast team members in all aspects of Logistics & Transportation strategic operations
  
  

Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)

• 7+ years of direct experience with domestic and international transportation
• Experience directly managing freight forwarders, domestic freight carriers and small parcel carriers highly preferred
• Knowledge and experience in standard operating procedures for logistics & transportation
• Knowledge of trade compliance, duty/tariffs/VAT/GST as it relates global logistics a strong plus
• In-depth understanding of logistics strategy and key levers that impact scale and efficiency
• Strong change management, collaboration and communication skills
• Excellent analytical and continuous learning mindset with ability to present clearly and concisely
• Willingness to challenge the status quo by questioning existing practices, identifying barriers, and developing new and better ways to do things ensuring continuous improvement
• Dangerous goods knowledge as it relates to hardware and batteries a strong plus
• Demonstrated knowledge of logistics operations setup, costs management, technology systems and reporting tools

The base salary range for this role is listed below. The starting salary will be determined based on skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards components include cash compensation (overtime, bonus/commissions if eligible), equity, and benefits.

Pay Range

$115,000—$184,000 USD
