Logistics Carrier Vendor Manager

Description

Experience in world-class logistics operations with emphasis on vendor, 3PL, or service provider management

Proven ability to lead continuous improvement projects and strong track record of customer service

Ability to work in dynamic, cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment while demonstrating strong work ethic and a high degree of flexibility

Oversight of supplier relationship and performance in support of Logistics and Distribution

Identify areas for process improvement and innovation;

Investigate problems, find root causes, and develop solutions

Prioritize and multi-task effectively to provide strategic and tactical support for projects, including capital planning

Monitor key performance indicators, drive performance, and expense management

Evaluate existing capabilities and establish new systems and processes for tracking, measurement, reporting, and analysis of Logistics Ops

Collaborate with partners as a representative of logistics, and provide updates to leadership: Inventory, distribution, freight, cycle time, etc.

Responsibilities

Call Notes:

Act as a Regional Service Manager (RSM) to support the team and focus on strategic initiatives.

Manage on-time performance of carriers and address data quality issues affecting shipment tracking.

Interface with retail contact centers and AppleCare to resolve logistics issues and provide necessary information.

Handle escalations and carrier management, relying heavily on analytics for decision-making.

Develop and create dashboards using tools like Power BI or Tableau to monitor carrier performance and manage logistics operations effectively.

Conduct ad hoc reporting and utilize analytics to investigate and resolve logistics issues promptly.

Collaborate with teams to ensure shipments meet delivery deadlines and maintain operational efficiency.

Emphasize the importance of using analytical tools like Tableau for data manipulation and reporting, highlighting relevant past experiences.
