Maintenance Manager
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations within the meat processing facility. This role involves managing a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring equipment reliability, implementing preventive maintenance programs, and adhering to all safety and regulatory standards.
Maintenance Management:
- Oversee the daily operations of the maintenance department.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to ensure all equipment operates efficiently.
- Coordinate with production managers to minimize downtime and disruptions.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise, train, and evaluate maintenance staff.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.
Equipment and Facility Maintenance:
- Ensure all machinery, refrigeration units, and facility infrastructure are maintained and in good working order.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and coordinate repairs.
- Manage spare parts inventory and procurement processes.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections.
- Implement and monitor safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
Budget Management:
- Prepare and manage the maintenance department budget.
- Track maintenance expenses and optimize costs without compromising on quality.
Vendor and Contractor Management:
- Liaise with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and maintenance services.
- Negotiate contracts and manage service agreements.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains.
- Implement best practices in maintenance management.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Maintenance Management Professional, Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional) are a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance management within a food processing or manufacturing environment, preferably in the meat industry.
- Proven track record in managing maintenance teams and implementing preventive maintenance programs.
Skills:
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration systems.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Proficient in using maintenance management software (e.g., CMMS).
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
