Maritime Watercraft Operations SME (028-24)

We seek a Maritime Watercraft Operations SME II who is immediately available and will thrive in a challenging, rewarding, process-oriented environment.

As a contributor to efforts of the Marine Corps Warfighting Lab in the Experiments Division, you will be asked to provide Scientific and Technical Deliverables by performing Research, Development, Tests, and Evaluation to identify future challenges and opportunities, develop warfighting concepts and comprehensively explore options to inform the combat development process and meet the challenges of future operating environments. These efforts will enhance the ability of the Marine Corps Warfighting Lab Experiments Division to plan, support, integrate, execute, and report live force experiments.

This position is located onsite in Quantico, VA

Responsibilities:

Provides advanced technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized applications and operational environments, as well as high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation, training, and implementation advice on complex problems that may require doctorate-level knowledge of the subject matter for effective implementation.

Provides advice on esoteric problems which require extensive knowledge of the subject matter.

Designs and prepares technical reports, studies, and related documentation; makes charts and graphs to record results; and prepares and delivers presentations, training, and briefings as required.

Produce periodic progress reports.

Required Qualifications:

NSW SWCC experience preferred

Ability to conduct “train the trainer” for MMRC

Knowledge of sensing capabilities and other technology for integration consideration

A MINIMUM of five years of position-specific relevant experience

Ability to travel for multiple weeks at one time

Security Clearance:

US Citizenship required

Clearance: TS/SCI required at start

Education and Experience:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Education, technology, or related field

5-12 years of experience in an IT-related field; relies on this experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Master’s degree in business, Education, or technology
• NSW SWCC experience
• Analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot systems problems
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
