Mechanical Estimating/Engineering Director


Job Summary


We seek a highly experienced Mechanical Estimating/Engineering Director to lead and enhance our estimating, preconstruction, and sales processes within the commercial mechanical construction industry. The ideal candidate will possess a rich background in design, engineering, estimating, and sales, and be adept at using industry-standard software such as Revit and Trimble/AutoBid, among others. This role requires a minimum of ten years of experience in a similar capacity, preferably with a significant mechanical contractor.


Responsibilities


  • Strategic Leadership: Oversee and refine all estimating and engineering efforts to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Design and Engineering Oversight: Lead the design and engineering phases, ensuring that all projects meet the highest technical standards.
  • Cost Estimation: Develop accurate cost models and budgets for various projects, from initial concept to final bids.
  • Client Engagement: Maintain and enhance client relationships, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Software Proficiency: Utilize Revit, Trimble, and AutoBid to optimize project planning and execution.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure cohesive and coordinated efforts across all phases of estimating and engineering.


Requirements


  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 10 years in an estimating or engineering role within the mechanical construction sector.
  • Educational Background: Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Industry Knowledge: Prior experience with leading mechanical contractors.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in Revit, Trimble, AutoBid, and other relevant construction management tools.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills, capable of engaging effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with a proven track record of solving complex estimating and engineering challenges.
  • Local and Stable Work History: Demonstrated stability and commitment in previous roles within the local market.
