Davis Wright Tremaine LLP has an exciting opportunity for a mid-level associate to join its nationally recognized media practice to work on cutting edge content liability and free speech cases, with a focus on digital and emerging media technologies.
The ideal candidate will have at least four years of law firm experience or a combination of clerkship and AmLaw 200 law firm experience with a background in media law, including copyright, trademark, right of publicity, defamation, or privacy. Former law clerks are strongly encouraged to apply. Candidates with commercial litigation experience for digital media clients and independent knowledge of and interest in media law practice are also encouraged to apply. Candidates must have a J.D. and active members of the California or Washington bars. Excellent academic credentials and strong analytical and writing skills are required.

The annualized salary range for this position in California and Washington is $260,000 to $310,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on the candidate’s education, training, experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. Full time employees may be eligible for a bonus and health insurance with an optional HSA, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, 401(k), vacation, sick time, 10 paid holidays each year and an employee assistance program. For full-time employees, the initial sick leave benefit is 80 hours of sick leave per year. Attorneys generally take approximately three weeks of vacation from work each year, and it may vary depending on the needs of the clients and the firm. Additional voluntary benefits programs include: voluntary accident insurance, voluntary life, voluntary disability, voluntary long-term care, and pet insurance. Commuter and Transit programs are also available.
