Asset Manager

Affordable and Market-Rate Multifamily

Location: Hybrid - Chicago, IL


Hirewell has been exclusively retained by a prominent real estate company that develops and manages market-rate and affordable multifamily communities to lead the search for an Asset Manager. This role involves leading property-level monitoring, risk identification, and mitigation strategies. The Asset Manager will work closely with executives, ownership, and property management to enhance the portfolio’s financial health. Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute asset management strategies to optimize the performance of the multifamily portfolio.
  • Collaborate with Vice President and Regional Directors of Property Management to troubleshoot and enhance property and portfolio operations.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess curb appeal, CapEx project status, common area and vacant unit conditions, and personnel issues.
  • Review, analyze, and report on financial statements in conjunction with site visit reports.
  • Oversee property-level transition planning for acquisitions in collaboration with the Director of Property Integration and the property management operations team.
  • Create, oversee, and implement strategic business plans and programs for multifamily properties.
  • Participate in due diligence efforts for potential acquisitions and dispositions.
  • Perform other duties, as directed or required.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Portfolio/Asset Management, Finance, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in multifamily asset management or operations with demonstrated success in implementing asset business plans and improving property and portfolio performance.


Qualifications

  • Knowledge of affordable housing and financing programs.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with management software such as BI, RealPage, or Yardi.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • LIHTC experience is a plus.
