What You'll Do
As a New Product Development Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation, responsible for conceptualization, design, and test of new or revised products for our customers. You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing and enhance modern life. The New Product Development Engineer will also formulate manufacturing specifications, perform design analyses and validations to ensure all products meet medical device industry standards and guidelines for functionality.
What We're Looking For
Perform evaluation of customer requirements
Translate customer requirements to design
Create cost models for customer designs
Identify and verify suppliers for components and/or services
Use a hands-on approach for testing and finetuning production processes
Design and execute IQ/OQ/PQ validations
Create BOM’s and manufacturing procedures
Design and run tests to characterize device properties
Prepare full documentation in accordance with relevant internal SOPs and Design Control
Skills That Make a Difference
3+ years of experience in product design (concept generation, detailed design)
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical engineering, or physical science
Experience with braided shafts and steerable catheters a strong plus
Hands on experience in assembly process line
Expert in IQ/OQ/PQ of equipment and fixtures
Be able to prepare full documentation in accordance with relevant internal SOPs and Design Control
Have technical writing skills to draft process instructions and PFMEA
Have experience in fixture design & development
Be able to test and optimize a design by designing and conducting relevant experiments and evaluations including numerical verification
Support the design of new or existing components and/or devices while ensuring that all design requirements are met
Strong CAD skills in SolidWorks for designing and detailing
Knowledge on mechanical engineering drawing principles
Good in communication (speaking and writing)
Write engineering reports and create presentations as required to document and communicate result
Prepare reports, presentations, and spreadsheets of an analytical and interpretative nature
Good exposure in Medical Device product development process
Shall work independently with the internal and external stakeholders for execution
Maintain accountability to the completion of specific programs and projects in accordance to agreed project deliverables
