Position Overview

As a Patient Recruiter at Care Access, your mission is to connect patients with cutting-edge clinical trials. You will leverage your excellent communication skills, medical research knowledge, and technology proficiency to identify eligible candidates, educate them about the research, and facilitate their participation. Your commitment to outstanding patient care and your ability to adapt to evolving research protocols will drive the success of our clinical trials.

What You'll Be Working On

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Patient Recruitment: Act as the frontline connection between Care Access and potential study participants. This involves reaching out to individuals from our database and responding to inquiries from potential volunteers through various communication channels such as phone, email, or postal mail.
  • Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of all patient interactions and communications. Accurate and comprehensive documentation is crucial to ensure a smooth patient journey through the clinical trial process.
  • Patient Education: Educate prospective patients about the clinical research process, including the purpose of the study, potential benefits, and what to expect during study visits. Your ability to explain complex information in an accessible manner is essential.
  • Remote Pre-Screening: Conduct remote screening visits for specific studies. This involves using pre-screen checklist and assessing patient compatibility with study criteria and ensuring that all necessary assessments are completed accurately.
  • In-Depth Discussions: Engage in informative discussions with patients, addressing their questions, concerns, and providing assurance. Your ability to build trust and rapport is key to successful patient recruitment.
  • Appointment Scheduling: Schedule study visits with qualified subjects, considering their availability and study requirements. Timely reminders and follow-ups are essential to ensure patient commitment.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the Study Team and Clinical Research Coordinators (CRCs), serving as a bridge between patients and the research teams. Effective communication and coordination are critical for study success.
  • Study Protocol Understanding: Review and comprehend active study protocols thoroughly. This understanding allows you to accurately convey study details to potential participants.
  • Pre-Screening Logs: Maintain organized subject pre-screening logs to track patient progress, study enrollment, and compliance with study criteria.
  • Data and Technology: Utilize multiple platforms and software tools for managing patient data and scheduling. Proficiency in clinical trials databases, and standard office software is essential.
  • Liaison Role: Serve as a liaison between patients and both remote and local Clinical Research Coordinators (CRCs). Effective communication and coordination ensure a seamless patient experience.

Physical And Travel Requirements

  • This is a remote position with less than 10% travel requirements. Occasional planned travel may be required as part of the role.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Clinical Research Knowledge: You possess knowledge and the ability to apply ICH Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and other applicable regulatory standards. Your understanding of the clinical research process is essential for ensuring the integrity of our studies.
  • Medical and Research Terminology: An excellent working knowledge of medical and research terminology is crucial for effective communication with both patients and research teams. Your ability to convey complex information in an understandable manner is key.
  • Technology Proficiency: Comfortable working with data and technology, you can navigate various platforms for managing patient data and scheduling. Proficiency with clinical trials databases, and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential.
  • Time Management: Exceptional time management skills are part of your toolkit. You can effectively manage competing priorities, ensuring that patients receive timely and accurate information.
  • Team Collaboration Skills: You thrive in a collaborative environment and are capable of working effectively with other team members to accomplish mutual goals. Your positive and supportive attitude contributes to a cohesive team dynamic.
  • Communication Skills: Your friendly and outgoing personality, coupled with your strong verbal and written communication skills, allows you to maintain a positive attitude even under pressure. You excel at building rapport with patients and colleagues alike.

Certifications/Licenses, Education, And Experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in patient recruitment.
  • A minimum of 1 year of Clinical Research experience.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
