Practice Coordinator - IAG

The Practice Coordinator will work closely with the Practice Resource Attorney to provide support for the execution of a wide range of practice support, knowledge and business development tasks and initiatives for the international arbitration and Latin America practices.


Role summary/purpose of job

The Practice Coordinator will support the business development objectives of the international arbitration and Latin America practices by providing support for a wide variety of marketing and business development tasks including social media, blogging, presentations, pitching, directory submissions, targeted marketing campaigns, and organizing events. In addition, the role will provide support for knowledge and practice management of the international arbitration group.


Key responsibilities and deliverables

  • Proposals/Client Meetings: Work alongside Practice Resource Attorney to draft materials (pitch decks, brochures, compiling relevant thought leadership) for pitches, client meetings and in response to RFPs. Liaising with lawyers, business development colleagues, communications and events team members and our design/production team throughout the process and most often under tight time constraints. Maintain database of up-to-date standard marketing slides and attorney biographies to facilitate quick responses.
  • Directory Submissions & Awards: Assisting with various directory submissions such as Chambers, as well as one-off awards for practices and individuals.
  • Events: Working with our events and digital marketing team on client seminars/conferences/webinars. This includes preparing invite lists, coordinating conference materials, executing on the event and ensuring proactive follow-up.
  • Practice/Knowledge Support: Preparing materials for internal practice group meetings, such as business development activity reports, event summaries and agendas. Provide support to maintain practice knowledge resources
  • Research and Analysis: Undertaking internal and external research and analysis on clients, targets, markets, competitors, rankings, etc.
  • Client Mailings/Contact Database: Coordinating mailings for client newsletters and briefings. Maintaining mailing lists and updating as necessary, using relevant systems in coordination with our CRM resources.
  • Website/Blogs/Social Media: Updating and amending the contents of relevant sections of the firm’s website and blogs, liaising with the website and communications teams as appropriate. Provide support to create and distribute social media content.


Key requirements (Communication/skills/experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree with concentration in business administration/marketing preferred
  • Oral and written fluency in Spanish is required
  • Strong familiarity with Latin America
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Enthusiastic, pro-active, self-motivated, flexible, efficient
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Decisive, maturity of judgment
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong proofreading ability
  • Ability to communicate professionally with partners, associates, and clients
  • Ability to conduct and organize basic research
  • Experience with full MS Office Suite desired (Powerpoint in particular)
  • Experience with marketing and social media in a corporate environment desired
  • Prior experience in law firm preferred. Great next step for a paralegal or legal assistant


For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New York and California, Freshfields is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the States of New York and California and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $65,000 to $75,000.
