General Manager to President


Great Opportunity for an experienced executive in growth and scale (Corporate and small company experience preferred). Pay will be commensurate with experience. Base of $150k-$225k with additional percentage in revenue profit sharing model. This person will have to relocate or live in the area. Current owner/CEO wants to be absentee owner as soon as turnaround is complete and is comfortable that business is being competently managed/operated. Ability to manage emotions. Emotional outbursts and yelling (especially at employees) is not of interest for this position.


This is managing a team of around 20 FTE and growing. This is great for a seasoned manager/director/VP with large number of direct reports and experience to take their career to the next level!


Our Client:

This position will manage the manufacturing operations of a small operation near Flint, Michigan. Direct reports will include Manufacturing Manager, Quality Manager and ToolRoom/SetUp/Engneering Manager. Total shop employment around 30. The company is experiencing growth and needs processes and culture to support execution to meet the growing demands of the customers. This is a real roll-up-the-sleeves manager with clear vision and the ability to assign tasks/responsibilities and hold accountable.



The Position:

It is essential that this manager have strategic vision, team-building skills and the ability to lead, direct and manage operations in a facility that is working hard to come out of a turnaround. Ability to hold themselves accountable and achieve results. Lead by example. Company has about $5MM in sales and can easily manufacture $15MM in the current footprint. $3MM-$8MM of new business opportunities have been received and are being processed through the system (samples, PPAPs, etc.). Accordingly, it is critical that this manager can assign tasks to achieve results. Ability to use and integrate ERP system in all aspects of work in the building. Abilty to work with and assess manufacturing equipment. Ability to understand the Big Picture of Business. The successful candidate will be groomed for the Senior Leadership (Prez) so soon as competence and leadership is demonstrated through this Operations Manager position. Determine appropriate goals and KPIs for each manager and drive the managers to do the same with their direct reports. Follow-up and accountability are key.



  1. Combination of education and experience preferably in business, engineering, or technology. An MBA is a plus.
  2. Must be a servant leader and enjoy working with and coaching a team to execute a plan to meet the manufacturing and operations goals.
  3. Excited to be a Leader for the Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Scheduling Engineering, Customer Service, Finance and Human Resources. As a member of the Leadership Team, contribute to the strategic plan, develop the resources and plan to execute strategies.
  4. Evaluate leadership team and recommend appropriate structure, roles, and responsibilities
  5. Strong financial acumen to understand P & L, cost, and opportunities for improvement.
  6. Enjoy the challenges of Strategic Planning and day-to-day execution with the following responsibilities:
  7. Develop and execute organizational communication plans
  8. Create and execute Strategic Workforce and Capital Expenditure plans
  9. Develop organizational Key Performance Indicators and create plans to improve the metrics
  10. Reporting to internal and external stakeholders progress to the strategic plan
  11. Develop and execute an organizational cultural plan to the stated company values
