Overview


The Pricing Analyst plays a critical role in the key areas of billing, matter budgeting, client guideline compliance, and system administration. This position coordinates the functions around setting up and maintaining budget related data, specifically around client matter guidelines, including rates, client matter reporting structures and other client requirements. This critical role supports the timely flow of budgets, budget actuals and budget revisions to the matter team and client to facilitate timely submission of invoices, and required reporting to clients. The role will also have the opportunity to work with external clients.


The role will require support team partnering, problem solving and analytical acumen, in addition to hands-on reporting and analysis. The role will have exposure to the senior finance management, certain business, and functional leaders, with Partner interaction. The Pricing Analyst role has a direct impact to the firm’s overall bottom line.


Responsibilities

  1. Troubleshoot fee execution issues through thoughtful data analysis and understanding of firm systems.
  2. Assist in administration of established reporting and budgeting processes coordinating necessary input from matter team.
  3. Understand client matter guidelines and systems to advise and maintain best practices of executing agreed upon arrangements.
  4. Administration of matter budgets in our budgeting system to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  5. Monitoring and triaging incoming requests and questions from centralized team mailbox. Design, build, and implement tools and process to better control and maintenance of budgets and client reporting.
  6. Review new matter openings and ensure creation of necessary budgets and reports in consultation with matter teams.
  7. Analyze compliance with client guidelines and reporting out of non-compliance.
  8. Advise on opportunities to improve data and processes to reduce configuration time and prevent fee losses.
  9. Assist with the yearly auditing for clients.


Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, or business administration.
  2. Must have two or more years of experience with working with sensitive financial data and reporting within a law firm or service industry.
  3. Experience with financial database software, particularly those used in the professional services industry is required. Knowledge of Elite Enterprise or Elite 3E a plus.
  4. Demonstrated expertise with MS Excel, including advanced features such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP functionality, filtering, graphs, and advanced formulas.
  5. Demonstrated excellence in both written and verbal communication skills is required.
  6. Superior customer service focus and a demonstrated ability to work in challenging, time-sensitive, and dynamic environment.
  7. Must be a team player with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to a proactive, collaborative environment.
  8. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
